I watch and listen to the pathetic antics of politicians  (our “leaders”)  and each night I go to bed fearing for our future. What will happen to our children and our civilization?  You might think that I am obsessing on their silly politics, their inability to make decisions, their ridiculous debate about whether or not there is global warming , what they think people should be doing in their homes and bedrooms or even our failed economy. Actually, I am not because these issues (or should I say non issues) pale in comparison to the fact that we are entering an era where global annihilation is just a few bacterial mutations away from infecting and killing all or most of us. I have lived a life, but, what about my wonderful children- what about yours?!  Here is but ONE example of what is actually happening right now as you read this blog post. It is NOT science fiction!

HUNDREDS and possibly thousands of Australians are dying from superbugs (germs) created by antibiotic overuse in humans and animals and the global use of disinfectants. The infection risk could make it impossible to treat leukemia, do hip replacements or do bowel surgery (to name but a few medical interventions) in the future. Infectious disease experts said they are encountering untreatable infections for the first time since antibiotics were invented.Director General Dr Margaret Chan said something as innocuous as a grazed knee could become deadly.
