Therapeutic & Cosmetic Acupuncture

Accupuncture Overview

AccupuntureAcupuncture is an extraordinary medical tool that has been used for thousands of years in Asia. It is currently gaining in popularity throughout the world, including Europe and the Americas. I use acupuncture EVERYDAY in my practice on everyone from children to eighty year old grandmothers. Many people think that acupuncture is painful, but the needles I use are so small that they cause a “pinch” at most, and often patients do not even realize when the needles have been applied.

This is a complex modality that requires years of study and experience. The thousands of permutations in the placement of needles can have PROFOUND effects on your well being and disease states. Since I first began my training in a UCLA Medical School Medical Acupuncture program nearly 20 years ago, I have picked up many new approaches and skills, and have refined my technique to the highest degree. I use different needles for different uses and I use heat, infrared and small electric currents as part of some treatments. I also use ear therapies and magnets placed strategically in the many acupuncture points on the body when required.

Therapeutic Acupuncture

Historically, acupuncture has proven to be essentially a safe procedure that can be used in children as well as adults, and I often use it as the sole treatment or adjunctive treatment for a multitude of problems. While it can be an excellent treatment for many types of pain, including car accidents, sports injury, and degenerative pain, I also treat sinusitis, multiple sclerosis, anxiety, depression, acute pancreatitis, abdominal pain, kidney stones, and arthritis with acupuncture. It is also a phenomenal treatment to boost auto immune system response, and I typically combine acupuncture, homeopathy and sometimes antibiotics to treat bronchitis and/or pneumonia.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Acupuncture can have subtle or sometimes dramatic effects when used for wellbeing or cosmetology. It is a great tool to simply “put you back in balance,” as it releases stress, eases worry lines, and relaxes tension. Patients often feel rejuvenated and “lighter.”  Patients are also amazed at the dramatic aesthetic changes that occur almost immediately following a Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment. They describe themselves as “glowing,” and I have NEVER had anyone regret having the procedure- even skeptics walk away amazed at how different they feel.
